Background Information

Family Owned & Operated

This adventure started in 2009 when the Murray Family (Rick, Val, Lexi  Noble 🐾, & Charleigh 🐾)  bought a 20 acre farmhouse fixer upper  A couple years later they decided to build a winery from the ground up. Construction on our barn & tasting room started in early 2018 and planted our muscadine vines shortly after. We opened our gates to the public in November 2019 right before the pandemic hit.

Who's Who?

Richard Murray- President of Wine & Vineyard Operations. Rick (as we call him) is a retired commercial contractor and a very talented engineer and builder. He is responsible  for building and designing all that you see on property. When he's  not working  on the farm or working  with the wine he  enjoys hanging out  with his grand pup's and fishing in Costa Rica.

Alexa Murray (aka Lexi)- VP of Operations and Events. Lexi "the daughter" has a background in Hospitality, Event Planning and is a huge foodie. She manages the tasting room and oversees and plans all public and private events for the winery.

Valerie ("Mom") Murray- Chief Financial Officer

Val spilts her time between the office and the tasting room. She enjoys sharing her time with new guests and making them feel welcome to our home away from home.

Charleigh- Senior Winery Greeter and PR intern

Charleigh is our most requested and popular family member. She  will most likely greet you at the door before retreating under a table or den area in the  winery. She enjoys hanging out  and might even sucker you into feeding her a cracker or treat with  her ticks.

Noble- Greeter in Training

Noble named after the  muscadine red  grape growing in our vineyard is a red retriever. He's still learning and occasionally you will see him around the winery when he's not snoozing on his security detail in the office.

We are a Certified Florida Farm Winery & Muscadines Vineyard

...Which means we:

  • Produce and sell less than 250,000 gallons of wine annually of which 60 % of the wine produced is made from state agricultural products (muscadines, strawberries, fruit grown in florida,  etc).
  • Maintain an operating vineyard with a minimum of 5 acres of owned or managed land in Florida that produces commodities used in the production of wine.
  • Are open to the public for tours, tastings and sales at least 30 hours each week.

Things to Know Before Your Visit. . . AKA FAQs

Please reach us at info@secretgardenswinery.com if you cannot find an answer to your question

Currently we are open Tuesday-Sunday from 11AM-5PM. Please sign up for email notifications or check our website homepage or Facebook pages for any closures  or updates to  our hours.

We may make the difficult decision to close early due to bad weather or staffing issues beyond our control.  (Occasionally we like to take some family time off as well)...

We do not  offer a formal tour. However guests are free to come visit part of our 30 acre farm. Guests  are welcome to walk through the muscadine vineyard or visit our big blue barn that holds a tasting bar and gift shop. If guests would like to do their wine tasting but would rather be outside enjoying the patio, we offer wine flights. There is NOT a cover charge to come on property.

We do NOT have a restaurant on premise. We offer prepackaged snacks such cheeses  and salami and boxes of crackers. If you contact us at least 24 hours in advance we may be able to prepare a charcuterie plate for you or your party.

We have two winery dogs that may greet you on arrival to the tasting room gift shop  so we don't allow them inside but our patio is large enough for you and your furry friend on a leash.

Yes.  Kids are allowed on premise. However, if left unattended we may give them sugar  and free animals to take home. (Just Kidding).  However, our winery is more focused on an adult & peaceful atmosphere.

Kids 16 & under will need to  be wearing shoes at all times and be accompanied by a parent in our tasting room. We do have some card games or coloring sheets at the bar that can borrow to play in exchange for a parent's ID.

We offer flights as our tasting experience where you don't have to listen "to the spiel" and get (4) 2 oz samples and can enjoy the patio or a seat at any available indoor seat.

If you  wanted a more formal tasting experience, we will need advanced notice of 24 hours . Groups of 8 or more that want a formal tasting will be automatically added a gratuity of 20% to their bill.  The tasting experience can be modified before arrival by emailing amurray@secretgardenswinery.com

We do! However we are not a formal event venue. We generally do AS/IS event space and allow and like to make sure we are able to accommodate your expectations before we quote you. Please find our questionnaire and more information under the website menu with the link labeled "venue pricing."

Not Necessarily. We take walk-ins and we offer fast(ish) casual bar service. All orders take place at the garden bar located in the  back left side inside the barn. We can accommodate starting a tabs for parties interested in staying a while and hanging out.  We encourage parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. We also recommend the same for guests that are on a time schedule to call and make a reservation or to email to make sure we are able to accommodate them. We pride ourselves on treating all our guests like family and providing excellent service so help us help you make this an enjoyable experience for everyone.
